Meet the Team: Ms. Lachele Perdue, Intake Coordinator

Meet Lachele Perdue our Intake Coordinator responsible for connecting new clients to the therapist who is the right fit for them. She also ensures a smooth onboarding process for all new clients, which is so important to their success in therapy. Lachele assists with our online marketing activities and community outreach. She brings a wealth of experience in business and wellness coaching, account management and social media management. Read on to learn more about Lachele.

What inspired you to join the team at Center for Shared Insight?

I have always been drawn to helping people and fascinated with personal growth and development of all kinds. I love being able to make a personal connection with clients and help support them on their journey. 


As an intake coordinator, how do you feel your role supports your clients’ experience? Are there any moments that stand out in your mind?

In this role, I’m committed to listening and learning about our clients’ stories so I’m able to match them with the therapist that best fits their specific needs. Clients are often anxious to start working on their goals right away, so by getting to know who they are and sharing their background with their therapist before their first appointment, they are able to jump right in and get started quickly.


What surprises have you experienced in your work at Center for Shared Insight?

I am often surprised and inspired by the courage it takes for people to reach out and ask for help when they are feeling fearful, defeated or alone. The moment they make the call or send the email to our office is a huge step towards self-care and putting themselves first, which is a brave move.


What input would you give someone who is on the fence about starting therapy?

Take the risk to become the best version of yourself! It’s empowering to have a place where you are supported, encouraged and accepted without any motives or judgement. We all need ongoing support to thrive, so don’t be afraid or embarrassed to reach out and explore a new path.


How do you make new clients comfortable?

I try to provide an open, inviting space to let them know that whatever they are experiencing and sharing is completely acceptable, normal, and never judged. I assure them that they are connected with a passionate team that truly cares about their well-being.


What is one of your favorite self-help books?

The Untethered Soul – the book reminds us that we are not our thoughts and can free ourselves from believing every negative or disempowering thought that runs through our chattering busy minds.


What is one of your favorite quotes and why?

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” ~ Wayne Dyer. 

If you are willing to challenge yourself to see things from another’s perspective or point of view, you open yourself up to new possibilities that you may not have been able to see before.


What is your favorite way to spend a day?

A great day would start with some strong coffee and a hot yoga class, followed by a drive to the mountains to explore a new trail with my dog and two daughters. I’m happiest when I’m in nature and surrounded by my favorite people who make me laugh.


If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what food would that be?

Burritos – I love that you can wrap almost anything in a tortilla and call it a meal!


What odd, unique or special gift or talent do you have that others might not know about?

I’m a bit of a book nerd and am usually reading several non-fiction books at the same time. I don’t read fiction because I am too tempted to skip to the last page and ruin the ending. (I pay a lot of library overdue fines!)
